THE AW24 - END OF SEASON ROUND-UP

The start of 2024 was a super busy period for the Oldstrom team - Another successful selling season of showroom appointments, trade shows, brand visits and road trips. But now we have had a moment to rest and reflect on everything we have achieved, we wanted to highlight some of the most exciting events of the last few months.

LAUNCHING GLAS EYEWEAR AT TOP DRAWER

Back in January, we attended our first trade show of the year, launching a very exciting new brand as part of the Oldstrom portfolio - the premium eyewear brand GLAS Eyewear. We also took our popular Swedish jewellery brand Caroline Svedbom to the show and showcased their beautiful Spring and Summer collections. This was a great way for us to jump into the new selling season with momentum and introduce the new GLAS brand to UK customers.

MEETING BITTE AND MICHAEL KAI RAND

At the beginning of the year, Julie and Freya travelled to Copenhagen for the AW24 kick-off meeting with Bitte Kai Rand. On this trip, they got the chance to meet the founders- Bitte and Michael, (Who we have to say are the loveliest people ever) as well as preview the new collection at the brand’s head office. A very fun and insightful trip overall and they can’t wait to visit again for the SS25 kick-off.

SCOOP TRADESHOW - AW24 EDITION

In February, we were back at Scoop, showing off all of the amazing new collections from our brands: Caroline Svedbom, BRGN, Bitte Kai Rand and Sand Copenhagen. We also took this opportunity to launch Edblad Jewellery to our customers and new potential buyers. The Swedish jewellery brand was a massive hit, with everyone loving the chunky, trendy, statement style of jewellery that Edblad is known for. (We love being able to offer customers new, unique and exciting product offerings!)

ROAD-TRIPPING AROUND IRELAND

At the beginning of April, Julia and Freya took Oldstrom on the road, visiting 36 stores in various towns all around Ireland. From Dublin to Kilkenny to Cork to Galway, the girls visited key existing stockists like Ellen B, Venezuela, Gallery 9 and Macbees, as well as introduced themselves to new, potential buyers and stores.

Key takeaways from the trip and all of the lovely chats they had along the way include a very positive reaction to the first season of Mei MeiJ, with stores experiencing great feedback on the brand and great initial sell-through. Another super positive product category for Ireland was accessories, with stores selling current brands very well and looking to introduce new names like Edblad and GLAS Eyewear to the mix.

The Chelsea Flower is an annual garden show which takes place during May and is hold for 5 continuous days. Held in Chelsea, since 1912, the show is attended by many members of the public, as well members of the British Royal Family.

Evening Drinks with the girls

We choose to stick to a similar colour palette when adding the jewellery and the shoes. Pastel and nude colours are perfect for spring. Beach Getaway

For those of us who seek the sun, the bank holiday weekend, means a lovely beach getaway. There’s nothing better than unwinding on a sun bed, listening to the waves crashing against the sand. Dea Kudibal’s CELESTE in Urban Pink, will keep you looking glam, whilst remaining casual.

Although we do not recommend wearing the jewellery to the actual beach, it could be a nice detail, for those of you who are heading to a beach club for a drink or lunch. The Antonia bracelet and Gabriella Earrings will help add that extra bit of colour.

Stroll through the city

For those of you who like to keep active, and take strolls around the city, we opt for Tomorrow Denim Jeans. Although the shape of the jeans may vary depending on your body shape and what you feel the most comfortable in, one of our favourite pairs, is the Brown in Kingston, a high rise straight leg jean. Jeans create more of a casual look. This is why we are then able to pair with a more extravagant blouses such as Dea Kudibal’s Ulrika blouse in Aphrodite Cherry, which adds a bit of colour to the outfit due to its intricate and colourful pattern.

We then decide to keep it rather simple, by styling it with a nice pair or hoops, the Emilia Earrings and the Miro Bracelet in Crystal to match.

When it comes to walks, we want to be as comfortable as possible, that’s why we chose to pair with SHOW from Kennel & Schmneger. The white platform shoes have a hint of colour, in this case, pink, which ties in really well with our Dea Kudibal ULRIKA top.

If dresses are more your thing, then look no further, as the Finest Embroidery blouse also comes as a Dress .With gorgeous lace and a picot edge around the neckline, the details on this one are to die for. Although the colour choices are more limiting than the blouse, you can still find this dress in Ladybug Red and Faded Cargo.

Annika Dress in Aqua Porcelain and Multi Peach

If you love bright colours and intricate patterns as much as we do, then the Annika Dress might be the one for you. The Odd Molly Annika Dress has smock at the upper front and smock which gathers around the neckline. It comes in three different colours, the Aqua Porcelain, Multi Blue and Multi Peach, which all acquire their own personality and mood. For example, the Aqua Porcelain on the left, we would recommend wearing more during the evening, as opposed to the Multi Peach, on the right, which we would consider as more of a day, lounging about the beach dress.

The Hannah Long dress, is a great alternative, if you often gravitate more towards Maxi dresses. The Odd Molly Hannah Long Dress is a very feminine dress. The fit allows for some flowing movement, and has small details, such as the bow at the back of the dress, which accentuate the waist.
